Common AI trading pitches in Hong Kong vs real learning

Claims about “AI auto-trading”, “smart EAs”, and “stable profits” are common on social media and messaging apps. Many high-pressure pitches are not regulated investment products. Separating “learning how it works” from “handing money to someone or an unknown app” is the first self-protection step.

Why pause and check in Hong Kong?

Pitches often mix “AI”, “automation”, “high returns”, and “easy” so it sounds like a tech product instead of high-risk speculation.

The funnel may run on WhatsApp, Telegram, or unfamiliar apps: build trust first, then push deposits or downloads.

Looking professional is not the same as being regulated by the Hong Kong SFC. Taking a class also does not mean the other party is licensed to manage your money.

Red-flag checklist: verify before you act

These are common risk signals for public education. Always verify yourself. If something feels wrong, consider Hong Kong anti-scam channels (for example Anti-Scam Helpline 18222).

A real education class vs a sales funnel

More like education

  • States clearly that this is a course; tuition is tuition, not trading capital
  • Encourages questions and understanding risk before you sign up
  • Does not ask you to hand trading funds to the teacher or an unknown custodian
  • Does not guarantee returns; focuses on evaluation and self-protection

More like a high-risk funnel

  • Leads with windfalls and “case studies”, while glossing over details and risk
  • Pressure close: deposit or install first, “teaching” later
  • Treats “membership”, “certificates”, or “AI certification” as regulatory endorsement
  • Discourages checking the platform, licences, or where money goes

How AITrade101.com positions itself

AITrade101.com’s EA Forex Trading Course is in-person education: how automated trading works, how to evaluate it, and risk thinking. We are not an investment product, we do not manage your book, and we do not guarantee returns. Public schedule and fee follow the site (currently: Date TBC, Tuition TBC).

To check suspicious products or verify intermediaries, use Hong Kong SFC public resources: Suspicious Investment Products · Register of licensed persons and registered institutions. Taking a course ≠ holding a licence, and it is not personalised investment advice.
